Clearwater Backflow Testing LLC

The purpose of a backflow prevention assembly is to keep the outside water (which can contain contaminants such as fertilizer, pesticides etc.) from backflowing and entering into your drinking water or the water providers system. Annual testing of your backflow prevention assembly is required by the Virginia Department of Health and your local water provider.  We are a locally owned veteran company, here to make this process easy for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

I received a letter to test my backflow, what do I need to do?

Your water provider will send you a notification when your test is due.  We can provide testing, repair, maintenance, and removal services that meet your needs.  Remember: we complete all  requirements from your water provider, and will perform all services and documentation.

When is the test due?

Backflow tests are due annually.  This is a requirement of the Virginia Health Department and local water providers.

Wouldn't I know if my backflow prevention assembly was not working properly?

No.  There are numerous mechanical parts, seals, springs and O-rings inside.  The only way to know if your backflow prevention assembly is properly working, is to have it tested.

How do I find a certified backflow tester?

Clearwater Backflow Testing is certified to test your backflow prevention assembly.  There are other testing companies available to you, however, we advise calling several companies to get pricing over the phone.  We are one of the competitive priced companies in the region.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be home so the test can be performed?

No.  Just make sure the water is on to the sprinkler or domestic system.  If water is not on, the test cannot be performed.  Typically the test is done on the outside of your home, so no one needs to be present.  If there are access restrictions, such as gates, fences, or animals, you would need to be home to allow us to test.

I no longer use my irrigation system.  Am I exempt?

Some water providers require annual testing regardless of usage.  If you wish to disconnect the system (long term or short), we can provide those services and file the necessary documentation to your water provider.

What if I ingnore the notification to test?

It's not recommended to ignore the notification to test backflow prevention assemblies.  The water provider has the ability to disrupt water service to your home or business.
